Singonium podofylum, also known as the arrowhead plant, naphthite, african evergreen, and goosefoot. This plant is the most common species produced in the foliage. The release of singonium is easily done through the cutting of the nodal, tip or air layers. The easiest method is to cut the vines into single-knot or single-eyed (a node with the leaves attached and the adventurous roots) and place it directly in a rooting environment under the mies.

Singonium podofylum, also known as the arrowhead plant, naphthite, african evergreen, and goosefoot. This plant is the most common species produced in the foliage.

Singonium Release

The release of singonium is easily done through the cutting of the nodal, tip or air layers. The easiest method is to cut the vines into single-knot or single-eyed (a node with the leaves attached and the adventurous roots) and place it directly in a rooting environment under the mies. Air temperatures are between 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, it is recommended to be useful with low temperatures if the roots of the area are stored between 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  80% shadow (2500 fc) is needed for rooting. Some varieties are released by seeds. However, almost all commercial production has shifted to tissue culture lines.

Production

Liners, root cuts, or seedlings are bonded in 4, 6 or 8-inch pots and grow in the shade of shaded houses or greenhouses. Commercial media formulated by the combination of peat, pine peel, vermiculate, and/or perlite with pH of 5.5 to 6.5 and soluble salts from 1 to 2 dS/m are suitable for the production of cingonium. Plants should grow below 80% shade, in relative humidity from 60 to 100%, and at temperatures between 70°F and 90°F. If plants are fermented by drip irrigation or ebb-and-flow, a nutrient solution with N can be used at 150 ppm. This solution can be done using a water-soluble fertilizer with N-P 2O5-K2O with a ratio of 3-1-2 such as 24-8-16 or 18 6-12 with micronutrients. Potted media should be kept moist but when controlled free fertilizers are used in production. Manufacturers are strongly recommended to monitor the nutrient status of potted media by checking the level of two-week-old dissolved salts using electrical conductivity (EC) meters. The media solution can easily be extracted using pour-through method. If the EC reading is lower than 1.0 dS/m, additional fertilization is required; Whereas if the EC reading is above 3.0 dS/m, manufacturers should either reduce the frequency or amount of applied fertilizer .

Transportation & Internal Care

Singonium is commonly used as a hanging basket. If the right growth is desired, a totem, ttlies, or other support is needed. Otherwise plants can be used for ground cover. The optimum light level for singonium in the interior landscapes is from 250 to 10 feet, and plants maintain a better aesthetic appearance if relative humidity is maintained between 40% and 60%. Allow the potted media surface to dry slightly before watering. Reduce hydration frequencies during winter but do not allow the plant to dry out. The temperature must remain between 65 degrees Fahrenheit and 80 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve leaf coloring. Casual pruning is necessary to preserve the plant form, and mitting with water and wiping the leaves with a linte-free cloth keeps the plants dust free and reduces the likelihood of pill infestation.
